Langdon Hall is a country house hotel and spa outside Cambridge, reached by a long drive through Carolinian forest, and it is a hotel and restaurant before it is a wedding venue. That ordering matters, because it explains the two things that most distinguish a wedding here.
The first is scale. Langdon Hall’s largest wedding space seats 120, which puts a hard ceiling on the guest list and makes this a venue for a deliberately contained celebration rather than a large one. The second is that the property publishes its wedding details with unusual precision — room dimensions, rental rates, event hours, deadlines. For couples comparing venues, that transparency is worth something on its own.
The spaces
The Firshade Room is the largest event space, seating up to 120 guests for a meal. It sits by the lower garden with floor-to-ceiling windows looking onto it, and runs to 2,400 square feet. Langdon Hall lists the room rental at $7,000, with event hours from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
The Summer House adjoins the Firshade Room — an open-air timber pavilion where ceremonies are held from May to October. The pattern the venue describes is a ceremony in the Summer House, a reception on the lawns, then indoors to the Firshade Room for the meal and dancing.
Dining setup in the Firshade Room includes five-foot round tables seating eight, provided by Langdon Hall, with white linen tablecloths, grey underlay, white linen napkins, glassware and silverware.
Colonel Langdon’s Room and the adjoining Conservatory is the small-wedding option, and it is genuinely small — guests are seated together at a single rectangular antique dining table, with a fireplace and windows onto the grounds. The package includes menus and name cards, a hutch for the cake and gift tables, a portable speaker for the ceremony and background music, waiter service throughout with no bar minimum spend, and access to the space up to three hours before the ceremony.
Langdon Hall has further private dining rooms used for weddings and events. For current availability, capacities and which combination suits a particular guest count, contact the wedding team on 519-624-3245 or weddings@langdonhall.ca.
Planning notes
The 120 ceiling is the first thing to check. Langdon Hall does not have a large ballroom, and it is not trying to. If the guest list runs past 120, the decision is made. If it sits comfortably below, the venue offers something most larger properties cannot: a whole estate operating at the scale of the wedding.
Accommodation is on site. Langdon Hall is a hotel with guest rooms and suites, so a wedding here can genuinely be a weekend rather than a day. Pet friendly rooms are available in the Cloister Building, and the hotel will arrange a dog sitter — which is worth knowing for couples planning to include a dog in the ceremony.
The Summer House is seasonal. Ceremonies there run May to October. Outside that window, the ceremony moves indoors, and that changes the shape of the day.
Deadlines are firm and published. Final menu selections and guest count go to the wedding coordinator roughly three weeks before the date, with final attendance numbers three business days prior. Worth building into a planning timeline rather than discovering late.
Packages are published by year. Langdon Hall issues separate 2026 and 2027 wedding packages, so pricing and inclusions should be confirmed against the year of the booking rather than assumed from an older document.
Location. The property sits minutes from Highway 401 and roughly an hour west of Toronto, in the same part of Cambridge as Whistle Bear — which makes it straightforward to tour both in one afternoon, though they suit very different weddings.
Who it suits
Langdon Hall suits a couple with a guest list under 120 who wants an estate setting, a hotel’s accommodation, and a kitchen and service operation of a standard that few venues in Ontario match. It suits a wedding weekend better than a wedding day, and it suits couples who would rather spend on the experience of a smaller group than on filling a larger room.
For a larger guest list, an outdoor ceremony outside the May-to-October window, or a different point on the budget, another Cambridge-area property will be the better fit.
For couples weighing it against the other Cambridge-area options: Langdon Hall is the small-and-refined choice, where Whistle Bear handles guest counts up to 350 and a weatherproof outdoor ceremony year-round.
