Destination Wedding Videographer

Some days are worth
traveling for.

A documentary wedding videographer for celebrations that span more than a single day. Nothing staged, nothing directed — the whole weekend, held as it actually happened.

What This Is

A destination wedding
is a gathering.

The people you love, pulled from every corner of your life, in one place, for once. That is a different thing from a wedding at home, and it asks for a different kind of film.

The welcome dinner where the nerves finally go. The morning before everything changes. The farewell nobody wants to say. Those hours are where the least guarded moments live, and a film built only around the ceremony walks straight past them.

That whole arc is what I would film. Quietly, without direction, and without asking anyone to do anything twice.

The Approach

Recorded.
Never directed.

A documentary wedding film means exactly that: the day is observed, not arranged. No staged first looks, no re-run entrances, no walking back down the aisle for the camera.

What comes back is the day you actually had. That is harder to film and, years later, the only version worth having.

How It Differs

Filming away from home
changes the work.

A weekend, not a wedding day.

A destination celebration rarely fits inside one day. The welcome dinner, the morning before, the farewell brunch — these carry as much of the feeling as the ceremony does. Destination coverage is built around the whole arc rather than a single afternoon.

I would fly in early to scout in person.

At least one day before the wedding, and two for a multi-day or remote venue. Filming somewhere for the first time means learning it before it matters — where the light falls, how the rooms connect, what the property does late in the afternoon.

The planning starts well before the week of.

For a destination wedding I would be in touch more often than a wedding at home tends to need, mostly with your planner — coordinating flights, scouting, and timelines well in advance. Six weeks out we would have a planning call to walk through the timeline, the key people, and any sensitive moments worth knowing about.

Nothing is staged.

No directing, no posing, no pulling you away from your guests. I work with what the day offers. In a place you have chosen carefully, that is almost always more than enough.

A small crew, on purpose.

Two cinematographers at most, and never more. Where the group is smaller and more personal than a wedding at home, a large crew changes the temperature of a room. Staying small keeps the day yours.

The Whole Weekend

The ceremony is
not the whole story.

A welcome dinner. A slow morning before anyone is dressed. A farewell on the last day. Coverage built only around the ceremony hour never sees any of it.

Home & Farther Afield

Ontario is home.
The rest I would travel for.

Ontario, Canada

Home — Niagara-on-the-Lake, Toronto, and Muskoka. Where the work has been made, and where I learned how to see.

Explore  →
Palm Beach & South Florida

The Breakers, Four Seasons Palm Beach, the Flagler Museum, and the estates of the Atlantic coast. A coastline I would happily get on a plane for.

Explore  →
Scottsdale & Sedona

Red rock, open sky, and desert light. Of everywhere on this list, Arizona is the one I would most want to point a camera at.

Explore  →
Charleston

Lowcountry weddings built around historic houses and live oaks. An unhurried, observational way of working would suit it.

Explore  →

Ontario is where the work has been made. The others are where I would most want to make it — and not a limit. If your wedding is somewhere else entirely, tell me about it.

Selected collections include

Loaded into a camera, developed by hand, and woven into the finished edit as a separate layer beside the digital footage. It is a small amount of the running time and often the part couples return to first.

Common Questions

Destination collections start at $8,000 USD and are built for multi-day celebrations. Travel is arranged separately and billed at cost. I send a personalized recommendation after your initial inquiry, once I understand the shape of your weekend.
Ontario is home, and it is where my work has been made. Palm Beach and South Florida, Scottsdale and Sedona, and Charleston are the places I would most want to film next, and I will travel anywhere in the US or internationally for a wedding that is the right fit. If yours is somewhere else entirely, tell me about it.
Most destination collections cover more than the wedding day itself. Welcome dinners, rehearsal evenings, and farewell brunches tend to be where people forget there is a camera in the room, and a film built only around the ceremony misses them entirely. Coverage is shaped around your weekend rather than a fixed number of hours.
Yes, and gladly. Most of the planning would happen with your planner rather than around them — flights, scouting, and timelines settled well in advance, with a planning call six weeks out. On the day I work without being seen, coordinating quietly with your planner and photographer.
It means the day is recorded rather than directed. I do not stage moments, re-run entrances, or ask you to walk toward the camera again. The film is assembled from what actually happened, which is why it tends to feel like a memory rather than a production.
