Inn on the Twenty is in Jordan Village, in the Twenty Valley — the western half of Niagara wine country, an hour and fifteen minutes from Toronto and a comfortable distance from Niagara-on-the-Lake. It is part of the Vintage Hotels group, and it is an inn and restaurant before it is a wedding venue.
The structural thing to understand is that the wedding spaces are graded by size, and each one is a genuinely different room rather than a partition of the same hall. Sixty guests, ninety guests and a hundred and forty guests each get their own building or floor. That makes the guest count the first decision rather than an afterthought, and it means a smaller wedding here is not a large room half filled.
The second thing: the escarpment. Jordan Village sits under it, and the valley views are what the venue’s best rooms are built to face.
The spaces
Windows on the Twenty is the ballroom and the largest space, hosting up to 140 guests. It has wall-to-wall windows, and Vintage Hotels positions it for either a sunset ceremony or a reception.
The Valley View Room is on the main floor of the historic restaurant building, with views out over the Twenty Valley and the Niagara Escarpment. It holds up to 90 guests, which makes it the mid-sized option.
The Vintner’s Cellar is the former wine cellar of the inn, for up to 60 guests. For a small wedding this is the distinctive room on the property.
Outdoor and vineyard ceremony sites are also offered. Because the arrangements for these can change season to season, confirm which sites are available for a given date with the Vintage Hotels wedding team rather than relying on a listing.
Planning notes
Accommodation is on the property. Inn on the Twenty has 28 rooms, each with natural light, a fireplace and a soaker tub, plus a full-service spa and two restaurants. There is also a separate Vintage House with rooms suited to families or groups travelling together. For a wedding where guests are coming from Toronto or Hamilton, that turns the day into a weekend.
The location is the underrated part. Jordan Village sits centrally in the Niagara Region with straightforward access to St. Catharines, Hamilton, Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. For a guest list scattered across the Golden Horseshoe, it is often an easier drive than Old Town — and considerably easier parking.
There is a village to send guests into. Jordan Village has shops, antique dealers and a settlers’ museum within walking distance, and Ball’s Falls is close by with two waterfalls and a historic gristmill. Guests with a free afternoon before the wedding have somewhere to go.
Catering runs through Vintage Hotels, as it does at their other properties. Confirm outside-vendor rules before booking anyone.
Ask about the room-to-guest-count fit early. Because the three spaces step from 60 to 90 to 140, a guest list that lands between tiers is worth discussing before the invitations go out.
Who it suits
Inn on the Twenty suits a couple who wants Niagara wine country without Old Town prices or Old Town traffic, with accommodation, a spa and dining on the property and a guest list of 140 or fewer. It suits smaller weddings unusually well, because the Vintner’s Cellar and the Valley View Room are proper rooms rather than scaled-down ballrooms.
For a larger guest list, or a couple set on Niagara-on-the-Lake specifically, one of the Old Town Vintage Hotels properties below will be the better fit — Jordan is a different part of the region with a different character.
Among the Vintage Hotels properties, this is the wine country option: Queen’s Landing is the waterfront one, Pillar and Post the garden one, and Prince of Wales the Victorian one in the middle of Old Town.
Inn on the Twenty is at 3845 Main Street, Jordan, Ontario.
