The Gate House is on Queen Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake, a short walk from the waterfront, in a building with original stone walls from the 1700s. The setting
The Gate House Courtyard is the primary outdoor ceremony space — secluded, with a stone water feature as its centrepiece, accommodating up to 120 guests. For smaller gatherings, the Gate House Patio seats up to 50. A Zen Garden on the property provides an additional outdoor ceremony setting. A large outdoor patio on Queen Street provides an additional gathering space for cocktail hours.
The indoor dining room is well suited for seated dinners and receptions, with floor-to-ceiling windows and the warm character of the historic building throughout.
Capacity
The Gate House accommodates up to 140 guests. It’s particularly well suited to smaller weddings — the scale of the property is one of its most appealing qualities.
Catering is handled by Treadwell Cuisine, with a seasonal, farm-to-table approach.
Planning notes
June and early September are beautiful months here — the outdoor spaces are at their best and the weather in Niagara is typically warm and settled. The Gate House books well in advance for these dates.
The waterfront is a short walk from the property and offers a lovely setting for portrait work in the late afternoon.
